I’ll be in Big Bear this weekend, but if I was around I would cruise over to Echo Park and check this house out. It’s not totally my style but something about it intrigues me. Perhaps it’s because of what the inside looks like. Honestly, when I saw the pic of the front of the house (above) I was not expecting this:

The openness of the room really took me by surprise. I would love to walk around inside and see what it feels like to be in there. And also to see where that ladder goes…

The house is 1200 square feet with a detached 600 square foot studio on a 5983 square foot lot. With all that space the back yard must be pretty big, right?

Right. But that sure is a lot of concrete! I think I’d try and get some grass in there somehow. When I get back from my weekend away I’d like to check this house and property out. It’s amazing the difference between looking at the pictures and actually being able to see a house in person. Anyone else looking to pay this house a visit?

The website says there’s a detached 600 sq ft studio in addition to the 1200 sq ft house with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, and the entire lot is 5985 sq ft.

Which makes more sense because my original comment was: “I don’t know if I trust those dimensions. I live in a 650 sq ft apartment and it’s a *small* one bedroom. I’m not sure how they can squeeze three bedrooms out of 600 square feet, unless I’m missing something.”

    Welcome! :)

And I agree about the backyard – concrete isn’t much fun. Needs some greenage!

  3. Wow, the ladder scares me! It’s kinda cool but I can see myself falling off it.
